Nine stamps featuring the petroglyphs of Tanum were issued for a decade commencing in 1954. From the Bronze Age, they depict humans, animals, weapons, boats and fishing nets. 3000 years ago when the sea levels were 25 meters higher, these images would have been viewed on the seashore of a fjord.
