National Treasure

Thanks Choonjong, for this 2009 joint issue! On left is #90 on Korea's National Treasure list, from the Silla Dynasty, excavated from a royal tomb. The centre Mongolian pair were used in the 18th-19th cent and the Kazakhstan earring features a wild boar, from c. 1st cent BCE.

This appears similar, as it is the same pair of earrings featured in the 2009 joint issue. This 6th cent pair is from a 3v definitive issue of 1968.
Thanks Mitchell! This is a Soksu (stone guardian animal) and listed as National Treasure #162. Since the Han Dynasty they have stood guard in front of tombs. This 1996 stamp shows the earliest found from King Muryong's tomb.
