Rock Art

Thank you Nazim! This 1984 Bicentennial collection features an array of rock art. From top left:. Wandjina spirit and snake babies from the Kimberleys. The next 2 are examples of decorative X-ray art, a Djorrkun (ring tailed rock possum)  and silver barramundi from Kakadu National Park. Another example of the white background Wandjina style is the Rock Python on right.
Lower row: the creator, Bunjil found in Black Range State Park, outside the stamp image are 2 dingo helpers. From the Quinkan Gallery are these more malevolent figures. Lastly, stick figures from Cobar, NSW.
More rock art from the World Heritage Site of Kakadu National Park.
