A 1968 maxicard with a stamp from the 3v '1900 years in Leon'. Is this a Roman tile stamp? 150 km away in Zamora this 'LVIIGF' inscription was found at a Roman camp of Petauonium, indicating that the seventh Claudian legion constructed it. Is that at all related to the one on the postage stamp?

  1. Hi Laura,

The stamp is the roman camp of Legio VII Gemina Felix (actually León). In petavonium exist two military camps, the oldest is belong to Legio X Gemina (also in Asturica Augusta, actually Astorga). The most recent is the camp of Ala II FLavia, wich depended of Legio VII
