Guernsey Dolmens

A 1977 'Prehistoric Memorials' FDC with menhirs, a cist tomb and Le Trepied passage tomb top left. Below left is a 2007 stamp also showing Le Trepied passage grave. Thank you JannickExcavations in 1839-40 yielded human remains, beaker ceramics and projectile points.
At right, is the only stamp of the 6v not specifically showing plants and animals in the newly designated Ramsar wetland sites of the Herm, Jethou and Humps islets. This burial chamber tomb is one of many on Herm Island built between the 5th-3rd cent BCE. Jannick writes that this may be the 'Robert's Cross' dolmen. Issued: July 27 2016.
