Writing-on-Stone

This FDC  is part of the 1993 12v 'Canada Day' set, with the lower right stamp showing the sandstone hoodoo landscape of Writing-On-Stone National Historical Park.  Home to the greatest concentration of rock art in Canada, our Blackfoot guide illustrated its importance, stating, "..in spiritual equivalence, this is the Vatican".

Camping at Writing-on-Stone will always be such a magnificent memory for me. This photo I took is one of the more well known petroglyph scenes with shield-bearing warriors.
