Thank you Puszti! A 1995 FDC honoring explorer Laszlo Almasy's centenary of birth. I am surprised the stamp designer did not feature the more famous figures from the Egyptian Cave of Swimmers. In 1934, a year after discovery, he published an edgy new theory on these horizontal 'swimmers', where the cave art reflected environment. Therefore, when first painted, he argued, the swimmers reflected a real and extant wet locale.
