Nydam Mose

Thank you Jaap! Great postmark on what looks to be a limited edition handmade postcard. Conrad Engelhardt excavated the Nydam Mose, a bog in Denmark from 1859-1863. Before having to halt excavations for the Second Schleswig War, he unearthed Iron Age weapons, clothing, and 3 boats. Unfortunately for the soldiers, it was very cold, and unfortunately for the boats, one was used as firewood.
