Poles from the village of SGang Gwaay Llnagaay are on this international rate stamp from a 5v UNESCO set. With an occupation history dating back 2,000 years, this village was decimated by disease, predominantly small pox, and abandoned c.1880s. While a number of memorial and mortuary poles remain today, by the 1950s, 15 have been removed by museums. Issue date: May 16 2014.
