Thank you Andreas for this postcard! It shows the Mutianyu section, comprised of three watchtowers. Mutianyu lies on the northern border for defense against the capital and imperial tombs. Famously, this section is best preserved having been renovated relatively recently in 1569 with large granite blocks.
Thank you Peter! This is the first of many covers I will be posting that I got at VANPEX over the weekend. The event had many great dealers and spectacular exhibits. Here are two stamps showing the famous wall. At left a traditional view from the 'Landscape Series', and at right a playful image from a 4v 'Paintings by Children' issued June 1 1983.
